Life in Beta

Some of you know how frustrating the past few weeks have been for me trying to put this site together.  Looking at it, others of you will laugh, because it’s a simple template from a free program called Wordpress.  Well, for whatever reason, be it that I’m just not as tech savvy as I thought I was, or that I wanted to customize too much, or maybe the aroma of McNuggets and fries diluting my brain functions at the McDonalds I visit to use their delicious Wifi, it hasn’t been as easy as I expected.

Instead of pushing this off another few weeks, or months, or maybe years – www.peteseat.com is being launched as a counterintuitive exercise the internet likes to call beta.  Over the course of the next days, weeks and months, I will update the site and add features, maybe even change the layout.  It’s all part of an evolving process meant to keep my blood pressure and stress levels at manageable levels.

If you have tips or tricks for this particular template, let me know.  Or, better yet, if you have ideas of another template in Wordpress that allows for custom headers like the logo I have above, and will actually work (I’ve tried about four of these), let me know.

I’ve learned that when it comes to making these things, y’all are much wiser than I.  In fact, check out the very first website I made at www.geocities.com/kramerica.  I did this in the late 90s, coding the HTML myself.  So coming into this project, I was convinced it would take about five minutes, and be signed, sealed and delivered before it started.

How wrong I was.

So, in conclusion (cue applause) – visit often, check out the changes, let me know what you think.  Between knocking my head against a wall, Google searches for “how to” guides and your help, I’m sure www.peteseat.com will be a really fun place.
