Team Obama pitches ball to niche news outlets
At the start, it sounded like the typical rhythm of a presidential press conference, each beat perfectly in place. First, the president called on a wire service.
“Let me take some questions. And I’ve got a list here. Let’s start off with Jennifer Loven, AP.”
Next he called on TV correspondents. Then bam! The normal playbook was thrown out the window.
