Mid-Day Reading List: When Swine Flu Attacks

Over 20 cases in the U.S. and over 140 in Mexico is making swine flu - a/k/a The Oink - the #1 story.  No links today, but the big stories are that the EU is asking its citizens not to travel to the U.S. & Mexico in response.  CDC says the U.S. portion of that alert is unwarrented.  Secretary Janet Napolitano says that the State Dept and CDC are issuing travel warnings of their own for all non-essential travel to Mexico.  To top it all off, about 100 miles away from Mexico City there was a 6.0+ magnitude earthquake today.

In the world of politics, the swine flu is overshadowing Obama’s 100 day mark.  Maybe it’s a good thing that so many news outlets prematurely released their stories late last week and over the weekend.  WH Press Secretary on Friday gave the White House press corps an A for their work.  But according to Politico, reporters aren’t returning the favor pointing to some of their gripes, including Gibbs’ knack for not responding to e-mails.

Also, developing a little bit ago - Gibbs gave the Administration a B+ for their work in the first 100 days.  Interesting moment of self-reflection.
