Ok, lets be clear: No promise any of this will happen. But here’s what I’m looking forward to in tomorrow’s press conference.
1) Obama discussing Specter. Will it be pure elation as we’ve seen already today or measured optimism for the potential direction for Obama’s agenda? - He’s excited but doesn’t expect to have a rubberstamp Senate.
2) Government vs. Swine Flu. - Obama opens with H1N1, even asking American’s to wash their hands. Says they are closely monitoring the situation.
3) Who will be called on? Will more papers and radio outlets get in the mix? Might Obama call on a Pennsylvania outlet or a health care pub to talk about those two major issues? - See post above for complete break-down, but a radio outlet was called on, a few niche outlets and Fox News was dissed.
4) Will Obama be questioned about the timing of the press conference after aides derided the 100 days as a “Hallmark Holiday?” - No
5) Will he be asked to grade the press corps? Gibbs gave them an A. What will Obama say? Can we have a high-level thrown down on our hands? - No
6) Will Obama be directly asked to respond to the tea parties or shaking hands with Chavez? Or have those cycles come and gone for good? - No, but Obama did discuss tea parties in the town hall earlier in the day
7) Will Obama get tough questions on interrogation memos? Lack of diplomatic traction in Europe? - Three tough questions on interrogation memos. Dominated the early part of the presser.
Should be interesting to watch!
